We hope this letter finds you well and finding some time to relax and enjoy these beautiful summer days. If you can believe it, we have been turning our attentions to the 2012 Resurrection School Spring Auction, more specifically the Auction Journal. In years past, as you know, we have gone out to both our parent body and as well our local merchants to solicit journal ads. This has been a wonderful source of revenue for the school and the spring auction. This year, however, we would like to change the format of our journal. Instead of a book of traditional journal advertisements we would like to turn the book into a ?Family Yearbook?, whereby our community can thank our fabulous educators and administrators and as well congratulate our children on jobs well done. To that end we have enlisted the help of two local photographers, Cristina Coco and Classic Kids. Cristina Coco will bring her unique style of photography, which captures the family in a casually elegant setting of your own choosing. Classic Kids takes a slightly different approach, providing a more classic black & white portrait style. Both photographers have provided our families an opportunity to have a 45-minute photo session when you purchase a full-page ad in the Family Yearbook, at the cost of $250. The cost of the advertisement will include the actual ad layout and the digital jpeg file from the respective photographer. The photo can be any one of your choosing from the session. From there you can work with the photographers to purchase any additional prints you would like. Keep in mind both specialize in that perfect Christmas card shot, so what better time to capture your family than with a photo session while we all have the hint of a summer glow! We have included further information about both Cristina Coco Photography and Classic Kids along with the Family Yearbook ad form. Please note this offer will only be available until Friday, September 23, 2011. If you are interested in signing up for a photo session with either of the photographers (and we would ask that you just choose one) please contact them directly (their contact information is provided in the following materials). When contacting the photographers please let them know that you are calling about the Resurrection School Family Yearbook. Additionally the photographers will not schedule a photo shoot until we have received your check for the actual yearbook ad. We are very excited about this project and think it will be a wonderful way to salute our school. Volunteer for lunch duty! You will have an opportunity to hang out with kids in the cafeteria while they eat. Some lunch periods have up to six classes in the cafeteria at one time. Extra adults help keep order! And some younger students need assistance opening bottles, thermoses, or getting straws in the juice boxes. Then spend recess with the children on the blacktop, the playground or the field. It?s not all work! Yes, we?ll keep them safe and in line, but it?s fun too! Our lunch program will begin on the first day we return to school. If your children will be ordering lunch from the cafeteria or buying snacks, it is necessary for you to set up your family lunch account before September 7, 2011. Please set up your family account using the following procedure. Print out, fill in and mail the attached Authorization Forms (also located on the website under Lunch Program) to the office with a void check to start up your bank account for debiting. These forms have to be filled out once each year to open your debiting account. If you have a debiting account already set up for tuition payments and you wish to use the same account, you do not have to fill out another authorization form. Just note the tuition checking account on the Debit Form. **After the Authorization Forms are mailed in, you will have to go to the tab under Lunch Program which says ?Lunch Debit Form? and submit this form with the specified amount to be deducted from your checking account on the next available day to the Resurrection School Account at Hudson Valley Bank. Each time you need to add money into your Lunch Account, you will use this Lunch Debit form to let me know you want money debited from your account. You may also send in a check for a minimum of $100.00 to the office with your child?s grade and teacher in the memo. If you have any additional questions concerning lunch fee payments, please call Doreen Pircio at 914-967-1218 or e-mail doreenp at resurrectionschool.com. The cost for lunch is $5.00 per day in the Grammar School and $5.50 per day in the Middle School. Students in grades 1 - 8 can purchase snacks for $0.60 - $2.50. Snacks are not available for purchase to Kindergarten students. Daily lunch and snacks are purchased by the children and debited to your family account. Each family is assigned a bar code, which is used to ring up each purchase. Cash is not accepted for any purchases, including milk, juice, and snacks at lunchtime. E-mails are sent automatically when your account is below $20.00. It is imperative that we have an accurate e-mail address for you and that you make sure you do not have it sent to your SPAM filter. Students may choose one of two entrees in the grammar school and one of three entrees in the middle school, a side dish, which rotate daily, fresh seasonal fruit and milk, chocolate milk or orange juice. Additionally, Boar's Head Bologna, Oven Gold Turkey, cold cheese, and grilled chicken sandwiches are available every day. Monthly lunch menus are posted on the Resurrection School web site. Students make their choice of lunch in homeroom before 9:00 AM each morning. To help reduce waste and control the cost of our program, our kitchen prepares only enough meals based on the students' selections. If for some reason a student arrives after 10:00 AM, they must bring a bag lunch from home. **In consideration of students with food allergies, peanut butter is not served in the Resurrection Cafeteria and children may not bring peanut butter to school for lunch.
